It has been 16 long years since Lionel Cartwright had
a song on the charts. For somebody who used to be a chart-topping
artist, his slip into comparative obscurity is one of the great
Nashville mysteries. I, for one, have never forgotten what a talented
fellow he is. And now he has a comeback single that demonstrates it all
over again. For daring to be different, as well as offering a powerful

guy is way too talented to have been off the radar screen for so long.
He returns with this dramatic ballad about a soldier’s thoughts in the
field. An emotional bulls eye, all the more so because of the stark,
chilling production. A very, very welcome return.
